Rice and Gullah Culture on the Lower Cape Fear In-Person
Join Jim McKee from Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site to learn about how rice was the dominant food crop harvested in Brunswick County in the 18th and mid-19th centuries. It’s legacy still reverberates through the county to this day: From the foods we eat, its impact on the environment, to the families who have been here for generations; rice helped shape the development of Brunswick County and the lower Cape Fear. Registration is required.
