Open Mic Fright Night!

Open Mic Fright Night! In-Person

Celebrate the season of scares with scary short stories and poems, as well as other fun writing and musical performances! Participants can share their own work, or share pieces by their favorite author or musician. Scary stories, poems, and songs are encouraged, but all genres are welcome! 

Performing is not required; attendees can either register to perform, or to watch as an audience member.

Coffee and refreshments provided! Adults ages 18+

Note: Participants registering to share at the event will be contacted by the library with information on how to submit their work in advance. Submission deadline: Monday October 13th. See below for submission guidelines.

Submission Guidelines

  • Participants sharing writing/music must register in advance of the program. 

  • Participants can share 1-3 written pieces or songs total. 

  • Participants can share their own pieces, or they can share pieces by their favorite author or musician. 

  • While there is not a word count limit, participants will each have 5-10 minutes maximum to read/perform, depending on the number who register to share, so keep this in mind when considering the length of works you’d like to select.
